WRUK’s Response to the National Audit Office Report ‘Tackling violence against women and girls’

The National Audit Office’s report ‘Tackling violence against women and girls’ found that men’s violence against women and girls is a growing issue, seen in the increase of incidents of harassment and abuse. This report shows that the problem is far greater than the funding and resource currently being made available to stop it.

There is a huge body of evidence that shows men’s violence against women and girls will not be stopped without working with men and boys to develop healthy and positive attitudes and behaviours towards women and girls.

We urge the Government to invest in tried and tested primary prevention initiatives to make this happen.
